Threshold movement at the cottage

Hi Mystics,
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted a blog as I’ve mostly been on our Mystic Crone Cottage Facebook page and navigating university. If you haven’t found us on facebook then I encourage you to do so as I’m more likely to post every couple of days.
There is a strange stillness that arrives at the end of the year.
Not quite an ending.
Not quite a beginning.
A pause between heartbeats.
Here at Mystic Crone Cottage, we honour this space as a threshold- a sacred moment where what has been begins to loosen its grip, and what is coming has not yet fully formed. It is the inhale before the next becoming.
This year has asked much of us.
For many, it has been a year of unraveling, old identities thinning, relationships shifting, nervous systems learning new limits, dreams being re-shaped in the dark. For others, it has carried profound growth, quiet resilience, and the slow reclaiming of personal power. For most of us… it’s been a little of everything.
And that is the nature of true change.
It rarely arrives as fireworks.
More often, it comes as discomfort, questioning, and the gentle ache of outgrowing what once fit.
Why This Time Feels So Strange (and So Important)
The end-of-year/New Year period holds unique energetic weight. We are collectively standing between stories:
The old narratives of who we had to be
And the emerging truth of who we are becoming
This threshold can feel disorienting. You may notice:
Emotional fatigue without a clear reason
A desire to withdraw and recalibrate
Old wounds resurfacing for one final look
A strong urge to simplify, declutter, or let people go
A deep craving for peace over performance
Nothing is wrong with you if this season feels tender instead of festive. The soul is closing chapters, not chasing noise.
What Has Been Shifting at Mystic Crone Cottage
This year has marked a profound evolution within Mystic Crone Cottage - a deeper return to its true purpose:
From surviving → to initiating
From seeking → to remembering
From doing → to being
The work here is no longer about quick fixes or surface-level spirituality. It is about shadow integration, nervous system safety, ancestral memory, personal sovereignty, and sacred rebuilding. It is about meeting yourself honestly at the crossroads and choosing your next path with intention.
This shift hasn’t been loud.
It’s been quiet.
But it has been powerful.
The Invitation of the Threshold
The threshold does not demand action, it asks for presence.
Instead of forcing New Year’s resolutions, I invite you to sit with gentler questions:
What part of me is ready to retire quietly?
What truth have I been avoiding?
What has this year taken from me?
What has it given me back?
What kind of life do I actually want to build now, not the one I was told to want?
There is no rush. The old world taught us urgency. The new world teaches timing.
Crossing With Intention
If you wish to work with this threshold energetically, here is a simple ritual you can do over the coming days:
Light a candle in quiet.
Write two lists:
What I am releasing from this year
What I am calling forward into the next
Burn the release list safely.
Keep the calling-forward list somewhere sacred.
Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly, and speak your next becoming aloud.
Your nervous system needs to hear your truth spoken with gentleness.
A Soft Promise for the Year Ahead
As we move forward, Mystic Crone Cottage will continue to hold space for:
Shadow work that feels safe and grounded
Spirituality that honours the body and mental health
Initiation without fear-based dogma
Magic that is woven into everyday life
We walk slowly here.
We walk consciously.
We walk together.
If you are standing at your own edge right now, unsure, shedding, soft but strong… you are not behind. You are exactly where real transformation begins.
Welcome to the threshold.
You do not cross thresholds by accident.
You arrive here because something within you is ready to change.
